Material Handler – Night Shift
Work Location: 10001 N Reems Rd, Waddell, AZ 85355
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Assignment Dates: September 14, 2026 – October 13, 2026
Shift: Front Half, Nights
Shift Hours: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
Schedule
- Week 1: Monday-Wednesday, 5:00 PM-5:00 AM — 36 hours
- Week 2: Monday-Tuesday, 5:00 PM-5:00 AM — 24 hours
Position Overview
We are seeking a Material Handler to support an intermodal loading process for JB Hunt. The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving pallets within trailers using a pallet jack and placing airbags in the gaps created during the loading process.
No forklift driving is required.
This is a safety-sensitive warehouse position. Employees will work in close proximity to LGVs (automated/robotic vehicles) and will receive safety training on how to safely work around this equipment. Strong situational awareness and a commitment to following all safety procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a pallet jack to move pallets throughout designated work areas.
- Move pallets inside trailers as part of the intermodal loading process.
- Place airbags in gaps created during the loading process to help secure product.
- Work safely around LGVs and other warehouse equipment.
- Follow all required safety procedures and standard work practices.
- Perform safety inspections and audits as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Use scanning equipment to accurately track inventory within the facility.
- Help maintain proper inventory accuracy and warehouse standards.
- Operate, clean, change over, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on palletizing equipment as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with forklift operators and other team members to maintain production flow and improve operations.
- Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and place items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Previous warehouse experience is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate a pallet jack when required.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to surroundings.
- Ability to work safely in close proximity to LGVs and other warehouse equipment.
- Must be willing to complete required safety training.
- Ability to follow safety policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work the assigned 12-hour night shifts.
Physical & Work Environment
This is an active warehouse environment requiring employees to spend extended periods standing, walking, bending, and moving materials. Employees may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and operate pallet jacks.
Because the position involves working around LGVs and other powered equipment, safety awareness and adherence to established procedures are critical.
