We are hiring Press Operators to join a growing team in Columbus, IN. This is a temp-to-hire position (not direct placement). Candidates must submit a resume and demonstrate stable work history.
After successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, employees receive a $1.00/hour raise.
Shift Options
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for operating automatic and/or manual compacting and sizing equipment according to established procedures and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- Follow all plant safety policies
- Identify and report hazards
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
Production
- Review work instructions and process documentation daily
- Perform machine checks and make minor adjustments
- Load materials (powders/fluids) as required
- Use measuring tools to verify tolerances
- Reset automation and press faults
- Complete accurate production documentation
Quality
- Follow all quality standards and specifications
- Perform inspections per documentation requirements
- Comply with CARs, PARs, NCRs, and process controls
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in TPM and root cause initiatives
- Support process improvements and cost reduction efforts
- Maintain 5S housekeeping standards
Teamwork
- Follow direction from production leadership
- Communicate safety and quality concerns
- Support company policies and team goals
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 6+ months manufacturing experience preferred
- Press operation experience preferred
- Ability to read work instructions and technical drawings
- Experience with measuring tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
