We are currently hiring motivated and skilled Press Operators to join our growing team in Columbus, IN.
After successfully completing your 90-day probationary period, you will receive a $1.00 per hour raise.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity (not direct placement).
Candidates must submit a resume and demonstrate stable work history.
Shift Schedules Available
-
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
-
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
-
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Summary of Primary Daily Responsibilities
The Press Operator is responsible for operating automatic or manual compacting and/or sizing equipment of varying complexity in accordance with operating procedures and individual certification requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
-
Works safely and follows all plant safety policies.

Promotes safe work practices and identifies hazards.

Complies with company procedures to maintain a safe and quality-focused environment.
Production
-
Reviews work instructions, TPM Time Matrix Sheets, Process Sheets, and related documentation daily.

Performs required machine checks and makes minor adjustments to maintain Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
-
Makes minor press adjustments as needed.
-
Fills necessary powders and/or fluids as required.
-
Uses gauges and measuring instruments to verify tolerance requirements.

Resets automation and press faults (including loading/unloading robots).
-
Completes all required documentation accurately and timely.
Quality
-
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, and regulations.

Performs required part inspections per documentation standards.

Follows all quality standards including CARs, PARs, NCRs, preventative maintenance requirements, record control procedures, testing protocols, measuring and monitoring equipment standards, and process controls.
Continuous Improvement
-
Participates in TPM teams focused on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Identifies opportunities for cost control and process efficiency improvements.
-
Participates in Fast Response, 8D, and other improvement initiatives as required.

Maintains housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S.
Team Collaboration
-
Follows verbal and written direction from Production Management.

Demonstrates professionalism and leadership in supporting company policies.

Communicates safety, quality, and operational concerns promptly.
Qualification Requirements
-
High School Diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum six (6) months of manufacturing experience preferred
-
Experience operating press equipment preferred
-
Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical drawings
-
Experience using measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, plug gauges, etc.)

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong problem-solving skills
