Job Title: Gas Cutting Table Helper
Location: Louisville, KY
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM; overtime as required.
Reports To: Production Supervisor | Department: Gas Cut
Position Summary
Now hiring a Gas Cutting Table Helper for an immediate opportunity in Louisville, KY. The Gas Cutting Table Helper works alongside an assigned production team to remove metal parts from the gas cutting table, visually inspect finished products for quality, and prepare materials for the next stage of production. This position involves material handling, grinding, part inspection, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The ideal candidate will have experience using power hand tools, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Work with an assigned team to safely remove parts from the gas cutting table.
* Visually inspect finished parts for quality defects, flaws, and inconsistencies.
* Perform daily preventive maintenance, including cleaning the cutting table and rails to maintain optimal equipment performance.
* Load, move, and organize parts into designated work-in-process (WIP) containers for the next stage of production.
* Grind and prepare metal parts as needed to meet quality and production specifications.
* Follow established quality inspection criteria for all parts processed.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with MMFI’s 5S guidelines.
* Follow company policies, procedures, and established work instructions.
* Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Lead and/or Production Supervisor.
Qualifications
* Experience using portable power hand tools, grinding equipment, or welding is preferred but not required.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to interpret blueprints as needed.
* Ability to produce quality workmanship while meeting production requirements.
* Previous experience in a related manufacturing or metal fabrication position preferred.
* Candidates with at least basic power hand tool experience may be considered for training.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work overtime as required.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
* Ability to stand for extended periods.
* Ability to perform tasks involving bending, twisting, stooping, and stretching.
* Ability to work in an environment typical of a metal fabrication facility.
