Lead Technician – Loves Park, IL
Now Hiring: Lead Technician
Join a growing manufacturing team in Loves Park, IL! We’re looking for an experienced Lead Technician to serve as a technical resource for the production team, with strong equipment, troubleshooting, quality, and leadership skills.
Pay: $ 22.00-26.00 DOE
Industry: Food Manufacturing / Production
What You’ll Do
- Operate, clean, adjust, and troubleshoot complex processing equipment.
- Serve as a technical resource for the gum processing area.
- Mentor and train Technicians and Senior Technicians on equipment operation, quality, sanitation, changeovers, and equipment care.
- Maintain critical tolerances, centerlines, process settings, and production standards.
- Identify and address product flow issues, jams, build-up, equipment concerns, and quality risks.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and adjustments.
- Support shift handoffs, daily direction-setting, issue escalation, and follow-up.
- Act as a backup Team Lead when needed.
- Enter production, quality, sanitation, and equipment information into computer systems.
- Follow all safety, GMP, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong equipment operation and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with GMP, sanitation, quality, and production processes.
- Ability to mentor, train, and coach team members.
- Strong problem-solving, math, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and safety standards.
- Comfortable using computers and production systems.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to wear required PPE and safely perform physical job requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
