Senior Material Handler
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Overtime: Possible overtime on Fridays
Pay: $38,600-$58,000 annually
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Material Handler to join our team! This is a hands-on position responsible for supporting warehouse operations by receiving, storing, transporting, and delivering materials throughout the facility while maintaining inventory accuracy and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial equipment, including sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers, to safely transport materials throughout the facility.
- Receive incoming shipments by verifying purchase orders, bills of lading, and invoices.
- Accurately receive materials into SAP and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, stage, and deliver materials to production lines using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Monitor inventory levels and work closely with Inventory Control to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Complete warehouse transactions, put-away processes, and finished goods movements while maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Perform daily forklift inspections and ensure all equipment is operating safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Identify safety concerns and recommend improvements to warehouse processes.
- Train and mentor new Material Handlers while promoting teamwork and safe work practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity throughout the warehouse.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of Material Handling or warehouse experience.
- Previous experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment.
- Experience with SAP, RF scanners, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and perform repetitive movements throughout a 10-hour shift.
- Comfortable working around moving machinery, warehouse equipment, varying temperatures, and manufacturing conditions.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection.
