Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Columbus, Indiana
Pay: $55,000 annually
Shift: 1st Shift
Assignment: Temp-to-Hire
After completing 520 hours, the client will re-evaluate the candidate and may offer full-time employment with a potential salary increase to $60,000 per year.
Position Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient and accurate receiving, storage, and shipping of goods. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves managing staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, optimizing workflow, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Job Functions

Work under the direction of the Vice President of Operations
-
Provide daily supervision to warehouse associates to ensure safe and efficient operations
-
Develop efficient schedules for inbound/outbound shipments, inventory counts, repacking operations, quality service tasks, and continuous improvement (CI) activities

Conduct regular meetings to assign tasks to warehouse operators and forklift drivers

Ensure Work Orders are complete, accurate, and supported with necessary materials and information

Evaluate employee performance and recommend improvement solutions
-
Ensure warehouse operations comply with Quality and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) requirements

Communicate defective or suspect products to Quality Engineers or Project Managers for proper disposition

Supervise operators to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
-
Lead warehouse continuous improvement initiatives including layout optimization, 5S, storage location improvements, and visual management

Maintain and improve warehouse facilities
-
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by managing inventory levels and repacked product control
-
Assist with maintenance and improvement of the Warehouse Management System (WMS)

Implement lean manufacturing tools and best practices
-
Assess training needs for warehouse staff and temporary employees
-
Support production during rush orders, product shortages, or labor constraints
-
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or similar leadership role required
-
Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
-
Experience with warehouse layout planning and optimization
-
Ability to support warehouse teams, office teams, and external customers
-
Strong time management skills with the ability to delegate effectively
-
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems

Strong problem-solving skills
