Malone Staffing Solutions is hiring dependable, customer-focused individuals for Food Service Worker positions at a healthcare facility in Lexington, KY. This position supports hospital food service operations by preparing, presenting, and serving food while maintaining high standards for customer service, food safety, sanitation, and quality.
Food Service Worker Benefits:
Compensation: $16.20/hour
Position Type: Temporary to full-time hire position
Schedule: Second shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM. Additional schedule details will be provided during the interview
Overtime: As needed based on business and staffing needs
Location: Lexington, KY

Food Service Worker Duties:
* Prepare food items by washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing fruits and vegetables
* Weigh and measure ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
* Follow approved recipes, preparation methods, and production standards to ensure consistent food quality
* Maintain proper serving temperatures and portion control standards
* Safely carry pans, kettles, trays, and other food items between workstations, refrigerators, stoves, and service areas
* Store food in designated areas while following proper wrapping, labeling, dating, food safety, and stock rotation procedures
* Serve food to customers in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner
* Provide excellent customer service while following established steps of service
* Respond professionally to customer questions and concerns and communicate issues to supervisors when necessary
* Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, counters, and food preparation areas
* Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment to designated areas as needed
* Maintain organized and properly stocked food preparation and service areas
* Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines and established food safety procedures
* Follow all sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety requirements
* Assist with inventory and supply control procedures as directed
* Follow established cash control procedures when assigned to areas involving customer transactions
* Identify and report food quality, safety, sanitation, equipment, or maintenance concerns to management
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the shift
* Work effectively with culinary staff, supervisors, healthcare employees, and other Food Service Department team members
* Follow all company and facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Food Service Worker Skill & Education Requirements:
* Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria, healthcare food service, or similar experience preferred
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Ability to follow food preparation instructions, recipes, and portion control standards
* Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
* Strong attention to cleanliness, quality, and detail
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare food service environment
* Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
* Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday
* Ability to safely handle food, kitchen equipment, utensils, pans, kettles, and trays
* Excellent attendance, reliability, and punctuality
* Must be available to work the full Sunday through Thursday schedule
* Must be able to successfully pass a 10-year felony-free background screening
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
* Must be able to successfully complete and pass a TB blood screening
