Quality Inspector
Location: Riverport Area – Louisville, KY
Shift: Sunday – Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Pay Rates
- Starting Pay: $20.10/hour
- After 90 Days: $22.00/hour
- After 1 Year: $22.50/hour
- Additional $0.50/hour increase effective August 1st
Position Summary
Malone Workforce Solutions is hiring a Quality Inspector for an automotive manufacturing facility in the Riverport area. The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting products and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer specifications within the molding and assembly departments. This position is essential in maintaining quality standards, identifying defects, documenting inspection results, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect products and processes in receiving, manufacturing, inventory, and shipping areas according to established quality standards and procedures.
- Use measuring devices such as calipers, plug gauges, pin gauges, fixtures, templates, and visual aids to verify product specifications.
- Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation, inspection forms, charts, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) data.
- Conduct station audits, including production parts, operator work instructions, quality alerts, scrap, and rework activities.
- Monitor and support containment activities involving sorting, rework, and rejected materials.
- Troubleshoot defects and assist with problem resolution and continuous process improvements.
- Communicate quality concerns effectively between shifts through logs, reports, and verbal communication.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while promoting 5S practices.
- Comply with all company quality, environmental, health and safety, product safety, and information security requirements.
- Work overtime as needed to support production requirements.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience required.
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience inspecting injection molded or molded components preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Forklift experience is not required.
Testing & Job Requirements
- Color Vision Test: Must pass the Comprehensive Farnsworth-Munsell Hue Test with a score of 16 or less.
- Required Assessment Process: Candidates must successfully complete all three parts of the testing process, passing each section before advancing to the next:
- Part 1: Color Vision Test
- Part 2: Written Test
- Part 3: Practical Test
Physical Requirements
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Constant use of hands and fingers while operating equipment and computer systems.
- Ability to work in close proximity to others while maintaining production pace.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
