Warehouse Material Handler (Weekend Shift)
Location: Niles, IL
Pay rate: $21.55/hr. ($20.00 + $1.55 shift differential)
Shift: Friday-Sunday | 5:00 AM-6:30 PM
Job Summary
We’re hiring an experienced Warehouse Material Handler to support a fast-paced food manufacturing operation. This role involves material handling, inventory control, forklift operation, and freezer work in a GMP environment. Ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work and long weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, stage, label, and store raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Verify inbound shipments and enter data into SAP using RF scanners
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks safely
- Work in freezer environments down to -20°F
- Stage materials for production and maintain FIFO inventory practices
- Perform equipment inspections and report issues
- Maintain GMP, food safety, and warehouse safety standards
- Assist with cycle counts, audits, and housekeeping
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years experience in food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing
- 3+ years forklift experience (Crown preferred)
- Experience with sit-down, reach truck, and electric pallet jacks
- Comfortable working in freezer conditions
- Basic Microsoft Word & Excel skills
Preferred
- SAP, RF Scanner experience
- Forklift trainer certification
- Food safety or manufacturing certifications
