Assistant Project Manager

Malone is recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing, family-owned manufacturing company specializing in custom architectural metal fabrication. This on-site role offers hands-on training, strong mentorship, and a clear path to becoming a full Project Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, trade school graduate, or early-career professional who wants to learn project management in a collaborative, low-red-tape environment while working closely with experienced Project Managers, engineering, drafting, and shop teams.

Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm

Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm

Salary Range: $55,000-$75,000 (based on experience)

What You’ll Do
Project Coordination & Execution
-
Assist with managing projects from initial submittal through fabrication and close-out
-
Create schedules of values and coordinate project timelines

Partner with drafters to lay out projects and review drawings for accuracy

Submit drawings for engineering review and customer approval

Track changes throughout the submittal and approval process
Vendor, Fabrication & Logistics Support

Obtain quotes for outside materials and finishes from vendors

Release projects to fabrication once approved

Communicate with the shop during fabrication
-
Schedule and coordinate all project-related shipments
Customer Communication & Close-Out

Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle

Participate in project meetings and provide status updates

Prepare close-out documentation and follow up on customer needs
What We’re Looking For
-
1-5 years of experience in project coordination or project management
(construction, subcontracting, millwork, architectural metal, or manufacturing preferred)! -
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings (required)

Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills

Detail-oriented with a proactive, “can-do” mindset
-
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Willingness to learn and grow into a full Project Manager role
Nice-to-Haves (Not Required):

AutoCAD or drafting exposure
-
Experience working with general contractors or subcontractors

Background in custom fabrication or architectural products
