Warehouse Material Handler
Location: Niles, IL
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour ($20.00 base + $1.00 shift differential)
Shift: Monday-Thursday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM (10.5-hour shifts)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Material Handler to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, staging, and delivering materials to support production, including work in freezer environments. Accuracy, safety, and teamwork are key.
Responsibilities
- Receive, label, stage, and store raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
- Verify inbound shipments by physical count and documentation
- Enter inventory movements using SAP and RF scanners
- Maintain inventory accuracy using FIFO practices
- Stage ingredients and packaging based on production schedules
- Perform cycle counts and report discrepancies
- Maintain proper labeling and traceability
- Operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks
- Work in freezer environments down to -20°F
- Complete daily equipment inspections and report issues
- Follow GMP, food safety, and warehouse safety standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Communicate shortages, discrepancies, and delays to supervisors
- Assist with training and cross-coverage as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing
- 3+ years of forklift experience (Crown preferred)
- Experience operating sit-down, reach, and electric pallet jacks
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- SAP and RF scanner experience
- Forklift trainer certification or manufacturing-related coursework
