Job Title: Shop Technician
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (Overtime frequently available; occasional overnight work as needed)
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview:
Derby City Valve and Pump is seeking a skilled and reliable Shop Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with pumps, mechanical systems, or heavy machinery, and will be comfortable working in a hands-on, industrial environment. This role is responsible for assembling and maintaining specialized cleaning systems for tanker trucks, ensuring all work meets high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Assemble, repair, and maintain pump systems and mechanical equipment.

Build and install cleaning systems for tanker trucks.

Operate and maintain heavy machinery safely and efficiently.

Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues.

Follow all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Work occasional overnight shifts when required for special projects or deadlines.
Qualifications:

Previous experience with pumps, mechanical systems, or heavy machinery required.

Ability to read and follow technical instructions and blueprints.

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Steel toe shoes required.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work overtime when needed.
