Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Downtown Louisville, KY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $20-25/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support daily operations in a busy machine shop located in downtown Louisville. This role focuses on mechanical maintenance, manual machine operation, and ensuring equipment reliability to maintain smooth production processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on mechanical skills, be comfortable using a variety of hand tools, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manual machines and shop equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Safely operate manual machines and forklifts as needed for maintenance or production support.
Utilize hand tools (personal set preferred) to perform repairs, adjustments, and installations.
Support fabrication or repair work, including welding when applicable (not required).
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report equipment issues to supervisors.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Collaborate with production teams to meet project timelines and operational needs.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
Manual machine operation experience required; CNC or welding experience a plus but not required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with troubleshooting equipment issues.
Proficiency in using hand tools; candidates with their own tool set are preferred.
Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards.
Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
