Warehouse Forklift Operator

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for one of our clients in the Walesboro area of Columbus, IN. This company specializes in automotive parts distribution and storage.

Position Details

• Position: Forklift Operator

• Location: Columbus, IN (Walesboro Area)

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• Pay: $18.00 per hour

• Language Requirement: Must be fluent in English

Position Overview

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport, load, and unload materials within the warehouse. This role requires strong attention to detail, strict adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication with team members.

Key Responsibilities

Forklift Operation

• Safely operate forklifts in compliance with company and OSHA safety regulations

• Maneuver equipment efficiently throughout the warehouse

Loading & Unloading

• Load and unload trucks and containers

• Ensure materials are handled properly to prevent damage

Inventory Management

• Accurately stack and unstack pallets

• Maintain organized storage areas

• Assist with inventory control processes

Equipment Inspection

• Perform pre-operation forklift inspections

• Report maintenance issues promptly

Material Handling

• Move pallets, crates, and boxes with accuracy

• Place materials in designated storage areas

Safety Compliance

• Follow all safety policies and procedures

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate records of inventory movement

• Report discrepancies to management

• Collaborate effectively with warehouse team members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous forklift or warehouse experience required

• Valid forklift certification

• Strong safety awareness

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work well in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment

Important Requirement

Candidates must successfully pass a forklift test before being placed on assignment.

Benefits (After Permanent Hire)

• Benefits available 60 days after conversion

• Company covers 75% of benefit costs

• Employee responsible for 25%

• Potential pay increase upon permanent hire based on attendance, attitude, and performance
