Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Malone Solutions is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician for one of our Industrial Manufacturing clients in the Columbus area.
Pay: $25-$30
Shift:
2nd 3pm-11:30pm
3rd Shift 11:00pm-7am
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of production and facility equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety while ensuring equipment operates efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance

Perform all work in accordance with company safety policies and procedures

Promote and model safe work practices, especially when training others

Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Maintenance & Technical Duties
-
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility systems
-
Perform maintenance on electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
-
Use hand tools and machine tools within specified tolerances
-
Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions

Perform approved repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance
-
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and PLC programs
-
Maintain a working knowledge of plant systems, processes, and equipment
Documentation & Quality

Complete all required maintenance documentation and calibration records

Maintain accurate logs for repairs, inspections, and compliance activities
-
Follow all customer-specific and quality system requirements
Team Collaboration

Communicate effectively with maintenance team members, production staff, and management
-
Work collaboratively with engineering, technical support, and external vendors
-
Demonstrate professionalism and leadership through actions and communication
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance processes
-
Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and continuous improvement initiatives

Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts

Maintain organization and accountability for company-issued tools and equipment
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred
-
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience
-
Experience working with CNC machinery and facility systems
-
Advanced training or experience in PLC controls, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing

Journeyman certification (electrical and/or pneumatic) preferred

Ability to work flexible shifts and participate in an on-call rotation

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Solid understanding of safety procedures and maintenance practices

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Mathematical & Reasoning Skills

Ability to apply basic math concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and geometry

Capable of analyzing problems and making sound decisions with limited standardization

Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and communicate

Frequently required to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Ability to work in environments with moving machinery, electrical hazards, and varying conditions

May be exposed to extreme temperatures, chemicals, fumes, and elevated work areas

Must have adequate vision, including close, distance, color, and depth perception
