Insulation Slitter / Skid Builder
Location: Jeffersontown/ Kentucky
Pay Rate: Starting at $17.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time Mon- Fri 7:30am- 3:30pm
Position Summary
Thybar Corporation is seeking a motivated and dependable Insulation Slitter / Skid Builder to join our manufacturing team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to build a long-term career in a growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting insulation materials, building shipping skids, and supporting daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate table saws, radial arm saws, and other basic shop equipment safely and efficiently
- Build wooden skids and crates using hand and power tools
- Use nail guns and other assembly equipment to construct shipping platforms
- Measure materials accurately using a tape measure
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements and cuts
- Cut and prepare insulation products according to specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Assist with other production and warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience using a table saw, radial arm saw, or similar woodworking equipment preferred
- Experience operating a nail gun is preferred
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Basic math skills required
- Comfortable working with fiberglass insulation materials
- Strong attention to safety and quality
- Ability to perform physical labor and stay productive throughout the workday
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Recent high school graduates are encouraged to apply
- Basic woodworking or shop class experience is a plus
- Manufacturing, construction, or warehouse experience is helpful but not required
