Malone Workforce Solutions is hiring Safety Officers in La Grange, KY for a secure behavioral health facility. This position is best suited for someone who is patient, dependable, observant, and comfortable interacting with individuals in a highly structured environment.
Candidates with experience in security, healthcare, behavioral health, caregiving/home health, childcare, residential care, or other people-focused environments are encouraged to apply. Previous Safety Officer experience is not required when your work history demonstrates strong judgment, reliability, communication, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:30 AM-9:30 PM
- Night Shift: 7:30 PM-9:30 AM
- 3-4 workdays per week
- Open availability for both day and night shifts is required
- Shifts are approximately 14 hours and include extended periods of both sitting and standing
Safety Officer Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, secure, and structured environment for patients and staff
- Escort patients through designated secure areas
- Monitor patient activity and recognize potential safety concerns
- Control access through secured doors and designated areas
- Use communication and non-physical de-escalation techniques to help prevent or manage crisis situations
- Maintain professional, respectful interactions with patients, including during challenging situations
- Participate in behavioral program implementation as directed
- Document incidents clearly and accurately
- Communicate safety concerns and incidents promptly to supervisors
- Follow facility procedures, security protocols, and confidentiality requirements

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Availability to work both day and night shifts as required
- Ability to work approximately 14-hour shifts that involve prolonged periods of sitting and standing
- Must meet all client and facility screening requirements, including background and drug screening requirements
