Scale House Operator

Scale House Operator Highlights:
- Pay: $26.00 per hour
- Location: Shelbyville, KY
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM and Saturday, 8:00 AM-12:00 PM

Scale House Operator Job Responsibilities:
- Weigh incoming and outgoing industrial trucks and customer vehicles
- Accurately record weights and transaction information
- Enter transaction and load information into company systems
- Communicate incoming and outgoing load information to yard and warehouse employees
- Process payments to customers for recycled metals
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outbound loads
- Complete daily reports and reconcile transaction information
- Provide friendly and professional service to customers and drivers
- Answer incoming phone calls and provide information as needed
- Coordinate with internal teams to keep trucks and materials moving efficiently
- Troubleshoot issues and adjust priorities throughout the day
- Complete additional administrative and operational tasks as assigned
Scale House Operator Job Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities
- Data entry and basic computer skills required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Comfortable working with numbers, payments, and transaction records
- Ability to remain organized in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, drivers, warehouse employees, and yard personnel
- Excellent attendance and reliability are required
- Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, shipping/receiving, scale house operations, or a similar industrial environment is a plus
