Team Lead
Pay: $18.15/hour to start, increasing to $19.20/hour after 90 days
Shift: 3rd Shift – Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Position Summary
The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations and ensuring adequate staffing, equipment, and materials are available to meet customer demands. This role provides leadership to supervisors and production employees while driving performance, safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure necessary manpower, equipment, and materials are available to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Review previous shift pass-down information and prioritize actions needed to achieve production goals.
- Lead daily staff meetings to communicate production status, address issues, and discuss upcoming activities.
- Monitor production performance and resolve operational issues throughout the shift.
- Compile and maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for daily management review.
- Complete and distribute end-of-shift reports to management and appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate scrap review meetings with supervisors and support departments.
- Conduct daily operator efficiency reviews and identify root causes of performance concerns.
- Participate in process audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit and enforce workplace organization and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with staff selection and recruitment activities.
- Train, coach, and develop supervisors while managing performance reviews and career development plans.
- Foster teamwork and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of production processes, staffing, and performance management.
- Experience leading teams and developing employees.
- Ability to analyze production data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Previous sit-down forklift experience required.
- Understanding of quality, safety, and compliance standards within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow all company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work additional hours and overtime as needed to meet business demands.
- Ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, suppliers, and vendors.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical job duties throughout the shift.
