Floor Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain hospital floors to ensure a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment.
- Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, carpet extractors, and wet vacuums.
- Strip, wax, seal, buff, and polish hard surface floors according to hospital standards.
- Clean and maintain carpeted areas using approved extraction and spot-cleaning methods.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols while working in patient care and public areas.
- Respond promptly to spills and other floor-related safety hazards to reduce slip and fall risks.
- Perform routine housekeeping and environmental services duties as needed, including cleaning patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, waiting areas, and office spaces.
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with hospital policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Ensure all assigned areas are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients, visitors, and hospital staff.

Floor Technician Requirements:
- Previous floor care, custodial, housekeeping, or environmental services experience preferred.
- Experience operating commercial floor care equipment is highly desired.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as required.
- Must report to work in assigned uniform and be prepared to begin work immediately.
- Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
- High School Diploma or GED not required.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and infection control standards in a healthcare environment.
