Warehouse General Laborer
Location: Niles, IL
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm (10.5-hour shifts)
Position Summary
The Warehouse General Laborer supports safe, efficient, and high-quality food production by performing hands-on assembly line and material handling tasks throughout the facility. This role is critical to maintaining production flow, product quality, and compliance with safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform hands-on work on production and assembly lines including packing, recasing, repackaging, and product rework
* Maintain production line speed while meeting quality and appearance standards
* Prepare, stage, and replenish materials, packaging, and supplies during production runs
* Verify production codes, dates, and labels to ensure accuracy and compliance
* Build, stack, and manually palletize finished goods, stacking pallets up to 72 inches high
* Pack and move cases, pails, and materials as assigned
* Support production start-up and shut-down procedures
* Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times
* Follow all safety, GMP, quality, plant, and food safety policies
* Communicate production, equipment, or quality concerns to supervisors or team leads
Job Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, GMP policies, and production procedures
* Basic math skills including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
* Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and grasping
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and high-noise environments while wearing required PPE
* Willingness to work overtime and in a multi-shift manufacturing environment as needed
