AutoCAD Drafter
We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join a growing engineering and production team. This is a hands-on drafting role focused on creating and reviewing detailed shop drawings that support manufacturing and production. This is not a warehouse or office position.
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour (DOE)
Schedule:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Work Environment: Onsite only (hybrid/remote not available)
Position Overview
The Drafter will prepare and/or check shop drawings to ensure they are clear, complete, and accurate. Drawings will be created from rough or detailed sketches, existing libraries, and product rules, using AutoCAD 2012. This role supports the Engineering/Product Development Manager and requires strong industry knowledge and attention to detail.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare rough sketches by reviewing specifications and visualizing systems, components, and parts.
- Develop final drawings by interpreting sketches, specifications, and supporting documents.
- Create layouts and detailed drawings showing multiple views, component relationships, dimensions, tolerances, materials, angles, and curvatures.
- Review and verify specifications by examining engineering documents and performing calculations.
- Modify existing drawings based on design changes and updated requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering/Product Development Manager on detailed shop drawings for submittals and production.
- Prepare and program CNC equipment as required.
Qualifications
- Strong experience using AutoCAD 2012.
- Proven ability to create accurate, detailed shop drawings.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and production environments.
- Ability to interpret engineering documents and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
