About the Role
This well-established growing company: a machine tool solutions provider for the U.S. manufacturing industry is expanding into a new, high-potential territory and is seeking a solutions-based Machine Sales Representative who thrives on building business from the ground up. This is an ideal opportunity for a hunter–someone who enjoys opening doors, uncovering customer needs, and recommending the right machine solutions.
If you have machine tool sales experience, you already know the machines–and you know how to walk a shop floor, ask the right questions, and sell value rather than price, this is the ideal fit career opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute territory strategies to exceed sales and growth targets
- Prospect, qualify, and close new business in Illinois and Wisconsin
- Sell machine tools and equipment by identifying customer applications and challenges
- Build long-term customer relationships through post-sale follow-up and solution support
- Conduct customer visits, training sessions, and joint vendor calls
- Collaborate with leadership on product and market development
- Report on sales activity, pipeline, and market intelligence
- Provide light service or troubleshooting support as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of outside sales experience, ideally in machine tool or capital equipment sales
- Strong understanding of machine tools, manufacturing processes, and shop environments
- Proven success building new territories or opening new accounts
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to discuss applications and solutions confidently
- Hunter mindset with strong prospecting and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Associate degree preferred; HS diploma or GED required
Why This Role
- A new underdeveloped territory with significant growth potential
- Established company with leadership support and autonomy
- Opportunity to make a visible impact and grow long-term accounts
- Competitive base salary plus commission
- This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team while enjoying a flexible and relaxed workplace culture.
