Position: Food Safety / Quality Inspector (Warehouse)
Location: Aurora, IL 60502
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Overview
Seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to support food safety within a warehouse environment. This role works closely with warehouse management to inspect perishable inbound products, maintain records, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Work is performed in a 36-degree environment. PPE is provided.

Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify quantities for inbound perishable loads.

Inspect all inbound trucks for signs of pests or rodents before unloading.

Document temperatures of all inbound loads and report any violations.

Perform daily quality inspections and date checks for all perishable items.

Rotate produce inventory and maintain product levels in assigned pick slots.

Pull outdated product; complete daily dump/damage reports.

Process produce returns and determine whether to return to inventory, donate, or dispose.

Communicate daily with buyers and warehouse management on all perishable-related issues.

Assist Territory Managers with troubleshooting as needed.

Use a tablet and Fresh Check app to complete inspections.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to operate a forklift or electric pallet jack (or willingness to learn).

Able to work independently and communicate clearly.

Entry-level candidates welcome; produce experience preferred but not required.

Must be dependable, reliable, and a strong team player.
