OPERATION TITLE: Assembly
SUMMARY: Sets up and assembles various parts into completed units. Drills holes in various parts using bench fixed or radial arm drill. Removes burrs and sharp edges from parts using belt sander and/or small air grinder.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds repeatedly – a minimum of 2 times per day.
- Makes own set-ups including:

- Checks for parts on items to be assembled, drilled or de-burred.
- Secures drills and drill jigs for drill items.
- Secures and installs sanding belts on belt sander.
- Measures, scribes, and/or positions material, jigs, or fixtures for alignment to insure completion of cycle, maintaining product quality.
- Fits and assembles parts varying in weight, size and shape into complete units.
- Unloads and loads drill fixtures.
- Checks operation of complete units.
- Directs the positioning of material in work area.
- Records number of parts produced or processed on time cards and move tickets.
- Operator checks build sheet for special instructions or notes BEFORE proceeding with job assigned.
- Performs housekeeping duties as necessary to keep work area safe, clean and in good order.
GENERAL SUMMARY:Receives instructions, prints, and/or work order for the job, and proceeds with a minimum of supervision and direction.
Performs bench operations consisting largely of de-burring, light machine operations, tapping, drilling, staking, reaming, straightening, forming, rolling, burring, scratch brushing, etc., on machined and fabricated parts.
Involves the use of hand and bench power tools.
May use micrometers, calipers, and fixed gauges incidental to the operation.
Selects tool sizes.
Methods and procedures are standardized.
Assignments are given general supervision and check.
Takes good workman like care of machines, tools, equipment, work areas, etc.
Performs other work of similar or comparable nature incidental to the performance of the operation.
Required to read blueprints and maintain tolerances as shown on prints.
Assists new assemblers in learning the correct operation of machines, and procedures when required.

1st shift 5a-3:30p Mon-Thurs @$20 an hr. 2nd shift 3:15p-2a or 3:15p-1:45a Mon-Thurs @ $21 an hr.
