Position Overview:
The inspection process is vital to the continued production of products at Indiana Hydraulic Equipment, Corp. The inspection operator inspects the performance and reliability of all parts produced on a daily basis. The operator is responsible for running parts through the inspection process to include submersion in hydraulic fluid and attaching and detaching hoses to test the performance of hydraulic parts under simulated conditions while making adjustments to ensure parts perform to standard. The operator will be required to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting as necessary, and working with Production Engineering and Assembly Team Leader to ensure optimum efficiency. The operator is expected to meet daily targets based on demand and other factors.
Duties:
Primary duties are to operate the Indiana Hydraulic Equipment, Corp. Inspection Machine. This machine is one of two that exist in the world, and the only version located in the USA. All duties and responsibilities are to be done in a safe manner at all times.
Essential job functions:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to be on your feed 8 hours a day
- Prepare parts for inspection process using pneumatic and hand tools to attach appropriate fittings.
- Run the leak test process by submerging the unit in a hydraulic fluid bath the ensure there are no leaks
- Attach and detach hoses and other fittings to test unit performance. Monitor computer readouts, change hose positions, and operate levers throughout the process to test performance
- Ensure parts are processed through to the oil drain process immediately following inspection.
- Understand and know how to read computer displays and data to ensure products meet specifications and performance measures.
- Coordinate with management to ensure trouble codes are communicated and parts are singled out for repair or additional inspection.
- Learn the process immediately following (Oil Drain) and be able to complete both process to standard.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance on the machines as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, hands-on, environment.
- Strong hand eye coordination is a must.
- The ability to work in an austere environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of computers and reading data is required.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hand tools is a plus.
- Working knowledge of mechanical processes is preferred.
- Ability to perform as part of a team.
- Ability to use judgement in order to determine proper decisions.
- Good attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to be on your feet and mobile for 8 hours per day.
- The candidate must possess good communication skills and be safety conscious.
