Hourly Pay: $24 to $30 (based on experience)
Shift: 1st Mon-Fri
Location: Indianapolis (Hybrid WFH 4 days per week)
Position Type: 12-month contract to permanent hire.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the billing processes. This position is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and issuing invoices, reconciling accounts, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Create invoices and credit memos from business requests and interacts with requestors to ensure proper processing; distributes invoices to customer portals to ensure on-time payment of billings
- Act as a liaison between Billing, Credit, and Collections
- Ensure accurate and timely government and non-government billings for trade and intercompany contracts (including cost type, FFP, & T&M) as needed
- Support in the coordination, planning, and execution of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, reporting and reconciliation, adhering to key deadlines
- Build and improve internal procedures and controls; Continually work to standardize and automate processes; Regularly document and review policies and procedures for accuracy and relevance
- Acts as a process backup for other Billing Specialists; Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Billing Manager.
Basic Requirements:
- Associate degree with 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, OR
- Bachelor’s degree, OR
- Master’s degree, OR
- JD/PhD, OR
- 4+ years of Accounting or Finance in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment that is highly deadline-driven
- Previous accounts receivable experience
- Proficient in Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables, Macros)
