Pay: Up to $24.00/hour
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Process Technician to join our team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and processing of thermoplastic and TPE rubber injection molding and compression molding machines. You will also assist the department manager and lead process technician in overseeing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in every production run.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install molds, cooling systems, robotics, auxiliary equipment, and materials per established standards.
- Start molding machines and complete first article approval documentation.
- Minimize scrap and rejects by ensuring proper material usage and requesting adjustments when necessary.
- Adhere to process standards to maintain efficiency and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and adjust molding processes within guidelines to resolve issues.
- Document daily production, scrap, downtime, and efficiencies accurately.
- Communicate production issues and opportunities across shifts to optimize performance.
- Remove molds after production runs, clean work areas, and prepare for the next job.
- Ensure work centers have proper equipment operation, setups, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe department environment.
- Report mold, machine, or equipment issues promptly and address unsafe conditions.
- Assist in training and supporting operators.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; additional coursework in Plastics is a plus.
- 5 years Minimum of experience in an injection molding environment.
- Strong technical skills in injection and compression molding processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and provide guidance to team members.
