Truck Service Advisor (Work From Home)
Pay: $20/hour
Location: Remote, but must live within 1.5 hours of Baltimore, MD, or Minneapolis, MN.
This is a work-from-home position requiring proximity to either Baltimore or Minneapolis. Team members may need to attend the office up to two times per month on average.
As a Truck Service Advisor, you will work from home in an inbound/outbound call center environment, providing exceptional customer support to clients, drivers, and suppliers who communicate with the contact center via phone, email, or maintenance platform software. You will leverage your technical expertise to review requests from repair facilities and approve or decline repairs based on client policies.
This position is full-time (37.5 hours/week), working Monday – Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET. Element provides all necessary computer equipment for remote work.
A Day in the Life
- Apply your expertise in truck maintenance and repairs (e.g., diagnostics, preventative maintenance, labor & parts costs) while delivering superior customer service.
- Respond to inquiries from drivers and suppliers via phone, email, or other internal tools.
- Assist drivers in locating appropriate repair facilities and coordinate service appointments.
- Use technical knowledge to negotiate repairs, costs, and timelines with repair shops on behalf of clients.
- Review repair requests, ensuring alignment with client policies, and approve or decline accordingly.
- Handle calls efficiently, aiming for first-call resolution while minimizing driver/client downtime.
- Exhibit empathy and professionalism on every call to ensure a superior customer experience.
- Meet personal and team qualitative and quantitative performance goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Licensed 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) or similar certification preferred.
- 3-5 years of hands-on mechanical experience with trucks or commercial vehicles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team-oriented mindset, comfortable interacting daily with clients and repair shops.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to empathize and resolve inquiries efficiently.
