RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Lead/Supervisor/Foreman Experience required. 2+ years preferred. ($70k – $120k)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Drill Crew Foreman will be responsible for organizing and supervising the safe daily operations of utility construction projects. Manage the field operations with a focus to safety, compliance, efficiency, cost management and innovation. Manage construction activities to ensure Company procedures are followed and compliance is maintained relative to all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the daily operations in accordance with job specifications and customer requirements while continually monitoring site for changing safety conditions and related issues.
- Monitor the progress of the crew to ensure satisfactory job completion, keeping construction progress in line with the overall project schedule and cost estimate.
- Develop and maintain business relationships including attending customer progress meetings and pre-bid meetings, when appropriate.
- Serve as a single point of contact with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors performing work in the field.
- Pre-survey job location and ensure locates have been performed.
- Conduct job hazard analysis and present daily/weekly toolbox talks.
- Manage and develop labor and employee relations.
- Secure the work site at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and the safety of equipment and materials.
- Enforce safety by modeling behaviors, maintaining a drug-free work environment, and performing corrective action when appropriate.
- Train crew members in accordance with Company safety practices.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS:
- Able to read prints and other engineering documentation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined and detail-oriented.
- Must have a valid driver’s License and the ability to obtain a DOT physical certification. Class A CDL Preferred.
- Experience operating Vermeer drills (23×30) and DCI locating equipment.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, and successfully complete all other pre-employment requirements.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be willing to travel up to 1 week at a time and able to work within a non-structured schedule i.e., long hours, weekends, 24×7 emergency coverage, etc.
- Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.
- Team-oriented and had exemplary character.
- Able to mentor less experienced team members as appropriate.
