Summary:

Daily tasks will relate to all aspects of Foam production, maintenance of foam pad equipment and quality improvements of foam pad production. Daily tasks will require timely responses to equipment and production issues, as well as issues with raw materials and mold/forming equipment.

Responsibilities:

Investigate technical issues related to foam production

Create reporting to provide to management and leadership based off the analysis of critical data.

Drive continuous improvement processes with material and machines, utilizing improved processes and technology

Assist the management and foam team in organizing, planning and implementing strategies within the foam line

Validate & continually improve lab results as it relates to static load, hardness, density and dimension of finished foam.

Ensure all robotics are programmed and maintained to optimize pour patterns

Education and Experience:

BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or polymer science and at least 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience related to Foam manufacturing or injection molding.

Ability to use computer programs including MS suite, SAP, MES systems

Technical Skills Required:

* Proven experience as polyurethane foam engineer or similar position
* Knowledge of oval track foam machines (Complete calibration of metering units/ Mix head components)
* Knowledge of chemical blending & validation methods (PU foam)
* Ability to coordinate/perform capability & correlation studies to validate equipment
* Knowledge of PU lab testing equipment & processes ( Cup Shot/ Titration/ Force to crush/ ILD)
* Proficient user of MS Office
* Organizational abilities
* Analytical mind with good math skills
* Interpersonal and communication skills
* Advanced problem-solving
* Robotic programming
* Blue print reading
* Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic troubleshooting skills
