The Field Engineer will provide on-site mechanical/electrical and or programming support to complete a wide variety of engineering assignments for the purpose of erecting, commissioning, and troubleshooting equipment to achieve overall corporate objectives.
Performs customer site visits to assist with process startups, oversees pre-startup testing, checks installation progress, and creates punch lists, trouble-shoots the process after operating, and provides other assistance as needed to guarantee customer satisfaction. Examples include:
- Erection and Installation
- Erection Procedure of Extractor, Desolventizer (DT), Dryer Cooler (DC), Deodorizer, Mobulizer, and other pieces of equipment that would normally require several days or even months to erect.
- Pre-commissioning/Commissioning
- Tests of tightness with water, vapor and/or compressed air
- Lubrication and check of machines (e.g. alignment, rotation, etc.)
- I/O test of electrical components and instruments
- Introduction of utilities inside the process building
- Dry run test (without feed of material) of miscellaneous equipment (e.g. boiler, chiller, centrifuges, conveyors, etc.) to check electro-mechanical parts
- Final check of erection;
- Pre-calibration of instruments
- Wet run test (with vapor, water and electricity but without raw materials) of miscellaneous equipment (e.g. Boiler, chiller, centrifuges, conveyors, etc.
- Test of the software
- No-load test (with vapor, water and electricity but without raw materials) for all process sections and sequences in manual mode; For all no-load test (with vapor, water and electricity but without raw materials) process sections and sequences in automated mode.
- Start-Up/Performance Testing
- Introduction of raw material, reagents, etc. in all process sections
- Calibration of instruments
- Operating-test (with all utilities and materials) of all process sections and sequence
- Operating-test (with all utilities and materials) of all process sections in continuous mode
- Measurement and fine-tuning of all process sections to achieve guaranteed capacity and consumptions
Education and Experience:
- BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Engineering related degree
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated engineering experience with increasing responsibility in plant erection or plant operation or plant maintenance, preferably in liquids and solids processing, required
- Experience in Industrial Machinery Programming a Plus
- Must possess “hands-on” knowledge of implementing engineering projects from concept through completion (in the vegetable oil seed processing industry – Preferred).
- Working knowledge of and experience in edible oil and fats processing industry, understanding of industry compliance guidelines and expectations – Preferred
